Prof. Ana Rita Farias obtained her PhD in Psychology from ISCTE. During her doctoral studies, she spent two years as a visiting scholar at Utrecht University (The Netherlands). Since 2014, she has held research positions at Utrecht University (NL), University of Wisconsin (USA), Católica Lisbon (PT), and University of Porto (PT). She currently holds a position as a Researcher and Assistant Professor at HEI-Lab, Lusófona University. In addition to her academic role, she has served as Principal Investigator (PI), consultant, or team member on 16 projects funded by various research agencies, including the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), European Innovation Council, Francisco Manuel dos Santos Foundation (FFMS), la Caixa Foundation, and the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT). She is also the Director of the Behavior and Social Change in Context Lab (BeSCC Lab) at HEI-Lab, leading a dynamic research group that explores the complex interactions between human behavior and contextual influences. Over the past few years, Prof. Farias has made significant theoretical and empirical contributions, assumed leadership and coordination roles in scientific initiatives, and developed strong expertise in scientific training and supervision, including mentoring two postdoctoral fellows. She has authored over 90 academic outputs, including 4 books, 6 book chapters, 2 special issues, 26 peer-reviewed international journal articles (90% Q1, with a five-year median impact factor of 6.81), in journals such as Science Advances, Psychological Research, Social Psychology, Scientific Reports, Emotion, Acta Psychologica, eLife, and PLoS ONE. Her publication record also includes 3 conference proceedings, 3 published abstracts, and 4 technical reports. Since 2019, she has served as an external expert for the European Commission and the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia across multiple calls and initiatives. Her multidisciplinary expertise is reflected in her teaching portfolio, which includes courses such as Behavioral Economics, Psychology and Policy, Cyberpsychology, and Consumer Behavior. Prof. Farias remains deeply committed to mentoring young researchers and has actively involved undergraduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and graduate students in her research activities.
