It comes from European Union countries
The following are considered students from European Union countries:
- Nationals of a European Union member state;
- Family members of Portuguese citizens or nationals of a European Union member state, regardless of their nationality;
- Those who, not being nationals of a European Union member state and not falling under the previous condition, have legally resided in Portugal for more than two years, continuously, by 1 January of the year in which they wish to enrol in higher education, as well as their children who legally reside with them.
These students enjoy a status similar to that of any Portuguese student, benefiting from the same conditions for access to all courses at Lusophone Higher Education Institutions.
