Resume

Joana Costa do Carmo completed her license degree in Psychology in 2004 by Universidade de Lisboa, Faculdade de Psicologia (Lisboa, Portugal). She is a Doctor of Philosophy in Neuroscience by Scuola Internazionale Superiore di Studi Avanzati (SISSA, Italy, 2010) and a Master in Cognitive Science by the Universiteit van Amsterdam (The Netherlands, 2006). Joana is currently an Assistant Researcher at Universidade Lusófona (from 2022 - present). Her research framework falls under the Cognitive Science's umbrella, with work developed mostly within the disciplines of cognitive psychology, developmental psychology, and neuropsychology. Her current work is organized in three main lines: 1) Studies in Autism Spectrum Disorder; 2) Memory studies, and 3) the cross between those - Memory studies in Autism. Joana was a visiting researcher at RIKEN - Brain Science Institute (Tokyo, Japan) and has been a visiting researcher and a collaborator at RPTU (former Kaiserslautern Technical University, Germany). She Co-supervised 1 PhD thesis(es) and supervised 7 MSc dissertation(s). In her professional activities, she interacted with 40 collaborator(s) co-authorshiping of scientific papers.
