  • Objectives

    Objectives

Special conditions are understood as situations of intervention in children, adolescents, pregnant women, and the elderly. These conditions require a differentiated approach; moreover are in line with the conditions/problems that can occur in these stages of life. The student must understand the differences in approach in these groups and know how to adopt welfare care appropriate to the needs. In addition to the groups listed, special conditions are also understood as the care required in the pre-surgical and post-surgical phases of aesthetic surgeries or of another nature. For a differentiated approach to these groups, the learner must understand the importance of working, whenever the needs require it, as part of a multidisciplinary team of health technicians, including doctors, physiotherapists, nurses, psychologists, and other therapists

    Teaching methodologies and assessment

Teaching and learning methodologies include various tools based on classroom teaching/tutorials and theoretical-practical teaching. Other non-classroom tools (e.g. Moodle) complement and diversify the options available. In a practical context, some of the programme's central themes are explored in depth, based on case studies, with a view to problem-based learning. The assessment system is preferably continuous, resulting from the evaluation of face-to-face assessment elements (A), which include written tests and frequent assessments (50%), and (B) other assessment elements in a tutored environment (P/TP), including performance in the laboratory/classroom (50%). (Final = A (50%) + B (50%). The final examination system applies to students who opt for it. Grades can be improved by means of an oral examination.
