Presentation
This unit aims to present the basic principles of pharmaceutical biotechnology. Make known the main products resulting from pharmaceutical biotechnology that are available on the market as well as the main techniques used to obtain them. It aims to provide theoretical and practical concepts on the implementation of systems for the production of biotechnological products. The laboratory classes intend to deepen and directly apply the themes taught in the theoretical classes.

Objectives
Objectives
It aims to provide theoretical and practical concepts on the production of products resulting from pharmaceutical biotechnology. In all chapters concrete practical applications are proposed on the topics covered, interconnecting with the practical component. In the practical part, the student contacts with different techniques and methodologies applied in the biotechnology industry to manufacture some of the most important products generated by the pharmaceutical industry.

Teaching methodologies and assessment
Teaching methodologies and assessment
Within the scope of the curricular unit, videos and documents are made available on moodle to support the subject. These documents and didactic material allow the visualization of programmatic contents and facilitate the learning of the basic concepts necessary to achieve the objectives stipulated for the chair. Whenever possible, field trips are made to reinforce the syllabus and whenever possible the collection of samples to be used in the practical work of students in the laboratory.
