Besides providing a broad knowledge about the evolution of the radio medium, analysing their characteristics and specificities, it is privileged the study of language radio, especially in news editing (including criteria selection and information ranking), interview and report without forgetting the importance of diction and speech associated with this specific communication area.

Syllabus
Specific features of the Radio medium, compared to others; the future of the Radio; radio communication characteristics; radio language: radio language/speech aesthetics, news editing (text rigor; text enunciation; building techniques of journalistic and non¿journalistic text) and news (selection criteria and hierarchy; techniques for launches and footers); report on Radio (preparation, implementation and language); interview on Radio (preparation, implementation and language), other journalistic genres in Radio (debate, chronicle, etc.); improvisational techniques; mastery of voice recording and soundscape.

Objectives
After successfully completing the course, students master the jargon of radio broadcasters and may (with careful supervision) edit and present news with the specific domain of "writing to be heard", make reports, edit sounds, conduct interviews, moderating debates, risking chronic or perform and improvise, if necessary.

Teaching methodologies and assessment
The professors presents the material, often supported by examples (written or otherwise) produced by radio professionals, and directs/fixes students individual works with the purpose of microphone reading performance. Students record the work they prepared, with immediate correction by the professors (content and communicative attitude/ spirit). The professors may ask students to work (text and/or recordings) outside the classroom. The assessment takes for granted the rules concerning attendance to classes determined by the school, the continuous assessment scheme, but distinguishes higher or lower attendance and quality of work for pupils in classes (30%+10% of the final grade), and involves a final work with news editing and/or reporting (60% of the final grade), to be indicated by the teachers.
