Presentation
This CU represents the centrepiece of learning in the Communication Design degree programme. Its central aim is to consolidate the notion of an integrated project, through a multifaceted approach, to which the experience and knowledge acquired in the other curricular units of the degree converge. It aims to foster student autonomy alongside their design maturity and help them create their own tools and strategies for individual and collaborative work, essential to any design project. The CU unfolds through an integrated project organised into stages in which various theoretical/practical approaches, processes and printed, digital and audiovisual media, among others, will be developed.

Objectives
Objectives
The aim of this CU is to encourage students to understand and consolidate autonomous, integrated and intellectually rich design thinking, based on a coherent and solid body of research. Students will have to propose their own interests, adopt their own work methodologies and in addition coordinate their approach with multidisciplinary work teams. Its main objectives are therefore: to encourage critical and ludic thinking based on a solid and insightful body of research; to stimulate discussion and joint analysis of this research and its materialisation in integrated projects; to encourage the development of autonomous projectual thinking; to propose the application of analysis and unfolding of research in advanced case studies and implement them in complex multidisciplinary objects; to guide the development of an advanced design project that denotes innovation and relevance.

Teaching methodologies and assessment
Teaching methodologies and assessment
This CU is based on the practice of different teaching methods depending on the projects and objectives proposed. Examples include research work carried out off-campus, in libraries, museums, galleries, gardens, streets, among other places open to research and field exploration; phased exercises, varying between individual and collective work; the exchange between digital and analogue techniques; experimentation with a multidisciplinary project under the guidance of different tutors; and self-learning and critical reflection on the work process and results.
