The curricular unit of Patternmaking and Manufacturing Atelier II is a fundamental field for Fashion Design and Production. Within Fashion Design, the fields of patternmaking and manufacturing are essential, from the development of patterns in basic shirts and trousers to the idealization and development of garments (from the shirt and trousers) of an individual and practical character throughout the semester.

Syllabus
Development of garments through manufacturing processes. Patternmaking and manufacturing of a classic shirt: basic body pattern, collars, placket pocket, armholes and sleeves. Manufacturing, techniques and processes. Practical exercise: creating a shirt based on the design developed by the UC of Fashion Design II student. Patternmaking and manufacturing of classic trousers: basic patterns of legs, knife pockets, welt pockets, crotch, linings, waistband, hem. Making, techniques and processes. Practical exercises: creating trousers based on the design developed by the UC of Fashion Design II student.

Teaching methodologies and assessment
The course will be developed through theoretical-practical, expository, and demonstrative sessions, as well as practical work of an experimental nature developed during class sessions. Foster also facilitates participatory learning and promotes teacher/student interaction. The tutorial teaching will be used to monitor the project throughout the course unit.
