Class Tourism Legislation

The course covers the legislative framework that regulates the operation of the tourism industry, providing information on the main legal regimes for specific tourism activities. In particular, it deals with the legal rules governing the installation, operation and functioning of tourist enterprises, local accommodation, travel and tourism agencies, catering and beverages and tourist entertainment. The theoretical and regulatory body of the course emphasises and gives legal consistency to the creation of the tourism economy and the activities that support it.

Description of contents The syllabus were carefully selected in order to allow students to acquire the necessary skills to identify the normative legal structure of Portuguese tourism. The contents of this curricular unit aim to provide students with knowledge of the legal regimes applied to the main specific branches of Portuguese tourism. Then: 1. Legal Regime of Accommodation 2. Legal Regime of AirB&B 3. Legal Regime of Food and Beverage Establishments 4. Legal Regime of Travel and Tourism Agencies 5. Legal Regime of Tourism Entertainment 6. Global Code of Ethics for Tourism .
