Maria Isabel Andrés Marques é doutorada em Ciências do Turismo pela Université de Perpignan (2008). Possui Mestrado em Engenharia Cultural e do Turismo pela mesma Universidade (2005) e é Licenciada em Sociologia pela Faculdade de Letras da Universidade do Porto (1992). É Professora Associada na Universidade Lusófona (Centro Universitário Lusófona - Porto), na Faculdade de Ciências Económicas Sociais e da Empresa. De 2010 até setembro de 2025 foi diretora do 1º ciclo em Turismo e Gestão de Empresas Turísticas, de 2011 a 2022 foi diretora do 2º ciclo de Gestão do Turismo e de 2022 a 2024 do 2º ciclo em Gestão e Inovação em Turismo e Hospitalidade. Desenvolve a sua atividade investigação no Intrepid Lab, que foi recentemente integrado como polo do CETRAD - Centro de Estudos Transdisciplinares para o Desenvolvimento. Possui uma vasta experiência como investigadora e os seus principais estudos e publicações, incluindo capítulos de livros, artigos em revistas científicas e atas de congressos, assentam nas temáticas do Turismo e da Sustentabilidade Social, Património, Cultura e Turismo; Gastronomia e Turismo; Turismo da Diáspora; Marca do destino; Imagens de Destino e Turismo Sustentável. EN Maria Isabel Andrés Marques has a PhD in Tourism Sciences from the Université de Perpignan (2008). She has a Master's degree in Cultural and Tourism Engineering from the same university (2005) and a degree in Sociology from the Faculty of Letters of the University of Porto (1992). She is an Associate Professor at Lusófona University (Centro Universitário Lusófona - Porto), in the Faculty of Economic, Social and Business Sciences. From 2010 until September 2025 she was director of the 1st cycle in Tourism and Tourism Business Management and the 2nd cycle in Management and Innovation in Tourism and Hospitality. She carries out her research at the Intrepid Lab, which was recently integrated as a pole of CETRAD - Center for Transdisciplinary Studies for Development. Her main studies and publications, including book chapters, articles in scientific journals and conference proceedings, are based on the themes of Tourism and Social Sustainability, Heritage, Culture and Tourism; Gastronomy and Tourism; Diaspora Tourism; Destination Branding; Destination Images and Sustainable Tourism.
