The UC aims to provide useful tools and methods for understanding the fundamental and most significant issues in the history of Christianity and churches, following their development in a diachronic perspective and open to comparison with the evolution of political, social, cultural and artistic history. Christian Churches and Christianity are approached within a current context of questioning about the religious phenomenon; students will be invited to question the "official histories" of Christianity, in the light of the differences or differences over it, know the Bible and the formation of the Church(es), over the centuries; Interaction with students seeks to bring to light the power relations behind what is orthodox and heresy. Knowing the historical events of the life of Jesus and the faith in Christ, and the history (s) of the Christian Church (s), it is possible to theorize, starting from the results of the ecumenical dialogue, on the Church of the future.
