Syllabus
Definitions and functions of artistic expression: expression and communication; a tool for thinking; problem-solving; expression of subjectivity. Dimensions of visual language: Morphosyntactic (alphabet and syntax of forms, space, structure, colour and light value); Technical and procedural (systems of expression/representation); Productive (context, media); Expressive (perception, creation, expression). Traditional Drawing and Drawing in Expanded Field. Interdisciplinary crossings and articulation analogue-digital (shadow photography, experimental animation) The experience of place as an artistic practice. The moving body, creating with the five senses. Atlas, archives and constellations. Itineraries and strategies of artistic creation. Artist Book Project. Design, planning and creation of an artist book printed by hand (Printing with movable types; monoprinting; stamping, linocut; marbled paper)

Objectives
Objectives
To deepen theoretical and practical knowledge in different areas of artistic expression. Research and reflect on contemporary artistic concepts and paradigms. Experiment with methodologies and techniques of visual arts and contemporary graphic design. Understand artistic expression as a manifestation of creativity, an instrument of thought, communication, and personal expression. Understand that artistic expression involves the entire body and its five senses. To acknowledge the importance of the arts in deepening sensitivity towards the environment (dialogue with the communities, understanding landscapes, connecting humans and non-humans). Obtain specialized qualifications by acquiring theoretical and practical knowledge about several forms of artistic expression. Know how to apply this knowledge to the educational context, adapting it to the cognitive development of young people at different academic levels.

Teaching methodologies and assessment
Active methodologies that articulate theory and practice and the construction of knowledge by students. In addition to traditional classes (lectures, audiovisual) on the syllabus, the development of artistic projects is proposed. In addition to a permanent attitude of research and enquiry, learning by doing is encouraged. These methods are fundamental in the training of teacher-artists, who must also develop a critical thinking about contemporaneity. The evaluation favours the formative dimension, through individual projects. Assessment criteria: Participation, attendance and cooperation (20%); Exploratory work in class or at home (20%); Project 1- 30%; Project 2 - 30%. If needed there is an exam at the end of the year.
