Objectives
Objectives
The objectives of this curricular unit are to prepare students for the practice of work and research in urbanism by exploring the analytical sense - theoretical and methodologically orientated - in the observation of urban facts and enabling them to carry out research and transversal work. Thus, in accordance with the personal motivation for carrying out research work, the objectives of this course are: To prepare the student for defining projects and their limits; To train them in structuring conceptual construction; Systematise the work with the construction of theoretical and analytical models; Plan and develop the work/research project; Transdisciplinarity and teamwork Project management - time, resources, results. The main aim of this course is to enable students to carry out research work (from set-up to results) and to disseminate results in accordance with scientific theories and practices in the field of urbanism.

Teaching methodologies and assessment
Dedicated support for each student, with the exploration of their research topics in order to develop the tasks needed to prepare the final work. In addition to imparting knowledge about research practice, concepts and standards for carrying out research and communicating results, the specific issue to be developed by the student within the scope of their research or project work is addressed, as a motivator for starting research or in-depth work in urbanism, also motivating integration into ongoing research projects, or assisting in the challenge of creating new projects.
