Basic notions of Language and Film Narrative are developed from a theoretical and practical perspective. It is intended to expose how the language of cinema works and how to use images for narrative construction, based on different film genres. From a theoretical perspective, it is intended to stimulate knowledge and a critical eye. From a practical perspective, it is intended to apply the knowledge in the development of projects in the previous semester in Direction of Photography I. The application of audiovisual language in the field of image composition, aesthetics, camera movements. Organization and management of camera equipment, lighting and machinery. Initiation of modeling with the students of an organization of a filming team with all sectors coordinated in the filming of an indoor and outdoor scene.

Small Introduction: From the Framework to the Plan The Grammar of Cinema - Cinematography Cinematographic Language – Olhar da Camara Scene Study: Goals, Action, Dialogue - Time and Rhythm Territories and forces of images Fiction, documentary, experimental Notion of gender and notion of form Scene composition: movement and mise-en-scène Structure and Characteristics of Linear Narrative: Hands-On Mode/Cinematography Structure and characteristics of non-linear narrative: Hands-on Mode/Cinematography New challenges to narrative conventions, starting from the use of camera/lens and lighting (more decoration and physical and visual elements)

Objectives
(direction of photography) as the main component. Scripts will be developed in the first semester in Script Writing, and will reach this UC as a work base for the 4 exercises that we will elaborate during the second semester. Develop aesthetic culture in the field of composition, lighting and scenery. Be able to integrate into a filming team knowing their specific functions as well as those of the rest of the team and the various departments. Understand the importance of the scenario in the construction of the image by practicing its construction and decoration. Understand the lighting techniques, the production needs to execute them and the rigor in the performance of the functions of each sector.
