    Teaching methodologies and assessment

The teaching and learning methods will be based on teacher presentation of matters and on work done in class by student as well as on student¿s at home work. Students will be involved in the discussion of themes and case studies as well as in practical problem or questions solving. As a differentiated element, this discipline participates in the P2I Projects, interdisciplinary research projects that combine knowledge from three curricular units from the same year and semester in a common work: this one, Risk Cartography and Emergency Planning. With simultaneous guidance from teachers from the three curricular units, these projects are concluded with presentations and defenses before a panel. They encourage students to integrate knowledge from different areas, reinforcing their holistic view of them, as well as allowing training in teamwork and certain research and investigation routines.
