    Introduction to the fundamental concepts of Spatial Planning, from the perspective of Sustainability, based on the planning instruments, in the main operating document, the Plan. Introduction to the legal system, in the various territorial spheres of planning activity, national, regional and municipal. Recognize the technical and legal terminology used by the public administration, present in the plans in force. Introduction to the production practice of the plan, including the basic concepts underlying them, mainly in the field of manipulation of available graphic information, through geographic information systems. Application of knowledge through practical work, where the theoretical contents are applied, privileging the scale of the municipality's territorial unit.

    Concepts on Spatial Planning, and Sustainability. Spatial Planning Management Instruments: identification of the areas and associated objectives. Environmental Quality Parameters in the management and qualification of the territory, with an impact on the Municipal Spatial Planning Plan. Considering the existence of «distance learning», the theoretical sessions will be given in this format. The practical sessions are in person, or theoretical-practical sessions will be in person. Weekly sessions: 1 - Distinction between Urbanism and Spatial Planning; 2 - Concept of sustainable development and planning; 3 - National Spatial Planning Policy - strategic objectives; 4 - PNPOT specific objects; 5 - The Legal Regime of Urbanism and Spatial Planning; 6 - The Special OT Plans; 7 - Territorial Planning - the Municipal Plan.

    Understand the breadth of the meaning of Sustainability, in terms of Spatial Planning. Understand the practice of planning, in the territorial and urban approach, where the scope of action of the central administration intersects with the scope of action of the local administration, therefore at the intersection between territorial units with different administrative, but complementary organizations. Recognition of the different scales instituted, of application of territorial areas, with emphasis on the scale of the municipality, and / or intermunicipal. Apply theoretical knowledge by carrying out a practical exercise.
