    Syllabus

    1. Representation: morphological, dynamic and scalar elements of the image. 2. A cinematographic language: narrative elements, image typologies, som functions, aspects of montagem. 3. Cinema Theories: formalism, Soviet montage theory, Kracauer's realism and Bazin, a theory of the author, a theory of the genre. 4. Acting in the relationship with the audiovisual image: approaches and techniques.

    At the end of the semester, students should be able to: -Identify and articulate diferent theoretical approaches towards the image -Understand diferent film theories and their historical contexts -Understand and analyse essencial concepts regarding the static image and the moving image.

    Teaching methodologies and assessment

    The program contents will be transmitted through the expository method and active learning through reading and discussion of texts, analysis of images from audiovisual works.
