Presentation
The present curricular unit (CU) intends to create an opportunity for the introduction to the study of human cognition, focusing on two of the basic psychological processes that support it, namely: perception and attention. Accordingly, the delineation of the learning outcomes (LO), syllabus contents (C), and teaching methodologies (TM) was globally guided by the following criteria: 1) the broad goal of introduction to the study of human cognition and, more specifically, to the study of the cognitive processes of Attention and Perception; 2) the knowledge of the conceptual and empirical models that underpin the students' future autonomous ability to deepen the advanced frameworks on Attention and Perception; 3) the knowledge and application of the main paradigms of basic and applied research.

Teaching methodologies and assessment
Teaching methodologies and assessment
Expositive and cooperative methods(TM1); database searching(TM2), critical analysis(TM3) and discussion of scientific papers(TM4); teacher's feedback(TM5), peer feedback(TM6); spaced and retrieval practice(TM7); experimentations in laboratory classes and in neuroscience lab(TM8), empirical reports writing(TM9); case analysis and diversified knowledge application exercises(TM10). The proposed pedagogical methodologies are based on evidence-informed practices and are intended to help students achieve the objectives, contents, and skills of the curricular unit.
