    The UC discusses the structuring and transversal nature of the relationship in psychology, the specifics of helping relationships, the centrality and interdependence between the verbal and non-verbal dimensions of communication. Conditions for training the skills necessary for the establishment of working relationships and alliances are emplyoed. It is intended to contribute to the development of self-analysis/criticism skills that allow to maintain a communication and relationship that are simultaneously authentic and adequate. observation of models, peers and the self, and critical analysis will be privileged.

    S1: Conceptualizations of communication helping relationships skills  1.1 Specificities of helping relationships  - Alliance - Empathy and genuineness - Transferential-countertransferential dynamics - Intersubjectivity 1.2 Models of communication and relationship skills - Ivey's Micro-competency Hierarchy   S2: Intentional use of communication skills 2.1 To explore and collect information 2.2 To encourage, facilitate and focus 2.3 The practice active listening: verbal and non-verbal dimensions 2.4 Psycho-education and feedback 2.5 To reformulate and restructure   S3: Meta-competencies 3.1 Self-observation, analysis, and individual style 3.2 Multiculrural competencies and detection of microagressions.

    Objectives

    LO1: Critically reflect on the structuring and transversal nature of relationships in psychology. LO2: Critically reflect on the specificities of helping relationships and the interdependence between their personal, technical, and theoretical dimensions. LO3: Critically reflect on genuineness and authenticity and practice implementing them through verbal and nonverbal communication competencies. LO4: Critically reflect on empathy and genuineness in their various facets and manifestations. LO5: Critically reflect on otherness and cultural humility and develop multicultural competencies. LO6: Develop the ability to be intentional in communication and associate it with different micro-communication competencies. LO7: Develop and demonstrate self-analysis/criticism competencies for authentic and appropriate communication and relationships.

    Teaching methodologies and assessment

    Methodologies based on innovative and evidence-based practices have been adapted to the course's practical and skills-training nature, prioritizing experimentation, model observation, critical analysis, and individual and collective reflection. Project-Based and Simulation-Based Learning – preparing and enacting psychological consultation sessions, including two video-recorded moments, with peer feedback, instructor guidance, and self-observation exercises. Discovery and Observational Learning—screening psychotherapy session videos, analysing and enacting clinical vignettes on microaggressions and reparations, fostering reflection on the specific relational and communicational dimensions of clinical interactions and helping relationships in psychology. Collaborative Learning – collective discussion of the literature, establishing a learning community and involving the development of a shared glossary.
