    Presentation

The Curricular Unit (CU) of Neuropsychology aims to deepen the students' knowledge about the main postulates in this scientific field, namely regarding the clinical expression of brain dysfunctions/injuries and the different neurocognitive functioning domains. Despite its introductory character, Neuropsychology is an interdisciplinary science and contributes to updated and specialized learning outcomes. The main objectives of the CU are: (a) to develop the study and understanding of brain-behavior relationships from a neuropsychological perspective, (b) to conceptualize neuropsychology as a multidisciplinary area of ¿¿knowledge regarding its object of study, (c) to characterize the main neurocognitive domains of the human brain, cognitive dysfunction and its clinical expression, (d) to stimulate contact with the scientific literature in this area of study

    Objectives

The learning outcomes (LO) of this CU are: LO1: To identify the object of study of Neuropsychology; LO2: To recognize neuropsychology as multidisciplinary science and specify its relevance in the study of higher mental functions; LO3: To use the knowledge acquired about the mind-brain system to understand its clinical expressions in case of cerebral dysfunction; LO4: To acquire knowledge about different neuropsychological impairments and to know how to interpret them through an analysis of cognitive processes; LO5: To deepen and develop the learning outcomes and syllabus addressed in the following curricular units: Brain and behavior and Biological foundations of human behavior.
