The scope of this curriculum unit is related to observation, Social Work, and knowledge. Throughout it, students will have the opportunity to observe the practices of Social Workers and, through observation, to learn about and reflect on these practices. The activities developed in this curriculum unit contribute to the construction and socialization of generated knowledge, in the relationships between practice, daily life, and theory.

Objectives
Objectives
O1. Develop observation as a requirement for understanding and interpreting reality and social problems; O2. Internalize procedures leading to the creation of an investigative attitude in Social Work, understanding that the profession's space and issues are themselves spaces and issues for investigation; O3. Develop a social and cultural sensitivity that allows for a differentiated view of social problems understood in their complexity; O4. Raise awareness of the importance of social research for the social intervention of social workers; O5. Develop the ability to observe contemporary social phenomena from the perspective of Social Work.

Teaching methodologies and assessment
The methodologies considered relevant and suitable will be adopted at each learning moment to contribute to its facilitation. The theoretical exploration of the topics defined for the curriculum unit is privileged, as well as the contact and interaction with Social Workers from different areas and intervention contexts.
