The Social Work Practice II is an integrated unit in the second year of the Social Work degree. It aims to develop social and professional skills within the framework of an integrated approach, articulating the necessary resources for social intervention that enable the diagnosis and construction of responses to the expressions of social issues in their complexity. This course seeks to teach students fundamental conceptual and operative instruments for formulating and operationalizing intervention methodologies to support professional practice. It also aims to solidify the theoretical knowledge acquired about the professional practice of Social Workers and collaborative work within networks, aiming to enhance a synergy of resources.

Objectives
01. To understand the social reality in its multiplicity of social issues, public policies, and existing services and programs; 02. To develop professional and social skills based on the professional competencies of the Social Worker; 03. To develop instrumental skills of the profession at various levels and in different areas of practice; 04. To develop a social and cultural sensitivity that allows for the construction of differentiated positions and behaviors regarding the various social problems understood in their complexity; 05. To internalize procedures leading to the creation of a reflective, critical, and investigative attitude towards social phenomena.

Teaching methodologies and assessment
The methodologies considered pertinent and appropriate will be adopted at each moment to contribute to facilitating learning, among which stand out: contact and interaction with Social Workers from different intervention areas and experimentation in both classroom and real-life contexts with technical-operational tools used by the Social Worker.
