Ana Vale Pereira

Resume

Ana Vale Pereira hold a Ph.D. in Educational Sciences from the University of Porto in 2003. Currently, she is an invited assistant professor in the Master's in Educational Sciences and the Master's in Media and Information Literacy and Digital Citizenship at the Lusófona University - Porto University Centre. Since 2016, she has been an integrated researcher at the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Education and Development (CeiED) at Lusófona University. She contributed as a researcher to the Erasmus+ Family-based Open Science Schooling Project (Ref: 2019-1-FI01-KA201-060724) from 2019 to 2021. Her research career began in 2008 with a program contract funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) at the University of Porto. She worked specifically at the CIIE- Centre for Research and Intervention in Education, which is a partner of CLACSO- Latin American Council of Social Sciences. Since then, her professional focus has primarily centred on research and higher education. Her research interests concentrate on educational sciences, particularly adult education and training, qualitative education research, public education policies, and teaching and learning methodologies in higher education. These areas have been the subject of collaborative studies with various researchers, reflected in her co-authored publications in national and international journals, book chapters, and an e-book. From 2016 to 2022, she served on the Scientific Committee of the Ibero-American Congress of Qualitative Research (CIAIQ). She was also a member of the Editorial Board and an invited reviewer for the Qualitative Research Journal in São Paulo, Brazil, as well as for the Revista Lusófona de Educação, a publication of the Interdisciplinary Research Center for Education and Development (CeiED). She also served as an expert in the External School Evaluation Teams of the Inspectorate General of Education (IGEC). Her commitment to adult education is demonstrated through her roles as a coordinator and trainer for innovative teaching methodology courses at the Lusófona University - Porto University Centre. Additionally, since 2001, she has been conducting training courses in qualitative data analysis using NVivo software, specifically for postgraduate students at FPCEUP and the Continuous Training Office of FPCEUP. Throughout his teaching career, she has attended several professional development courses, namely the course “E-Ducar: Development of Pedagogical Skills for Distance Learning”, promoted by Lusófona University in 2023, as well as the course "Artificial Intelligence will transform the School", promoted by the General Directorate of Education, Ministry of Education in 2024.
