Flávio Arrais is currently an Assistant Professor at Universidade Lusófona - Centro Universitário do Porto since September of 2023. Previously, he was a Post-Doc Researcher at Czech Technical University in Prague, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Department of Steel and Timber Structures, since January of 2022 until September of 2023. He graduated in Civil Engineering at the University of Aveiro in 2012, where in 2018 he finished his PhD on the field of the Behaviour of Steel Structures in case of Fire. In 2017 he started to work as a Civil Engineer, in the R&D department, at Perfisa - Fábrica de Perfis Metálicos, S.A. where he worked until 2018. In 2019 he started as a researcher of the University of Aveiro on the research project StaSteFi - Fire design of stainless steel members, financed by the Portuguese Science Foundation (FCT - Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia) until December of 2021.
