Objectives
Describe and evaluate the role of the financial manager and relate it to the company's objective function. Describe, apply and discuss the updating and financial capitalization processes. Identify, compare and critically evaluate the static and dynamic evaluation methodologies of investment projects in a context of certainty and uncertainty. Enunciate, criticize and apply the cost of capital estimation methods; - Describe, compare and apply the main business valuation methods; - Exemplify, criticize and apply financial analysis techniques. Learn the principles for responsible investing (PRIs). Understand the interconnections between the financial and non-financial drivers of performance and the impact on performance evaluation of introducing ESG factors.

Teaching methodologies and assessment
Theoretical-practical and expositive classes, with the participation of students in the resolution of practical cases. For the acquisition of the defined competences, the following teaching and learning methodologies (TLM) will be used: - Lectures, to present the theoretical frameworks of reference - Participatory, with resolution and analysis of practical cases - Active, with group and/or individual work and mini cases - Self-study, related to the student's autonomous work, as stated in the Lesson Planning Grading: Problem Sets - 20%; Group Work Assignments (max. 4 students) - 20% (analyse, solve and present case- studies) and Individual Work Assignement - 60% (with a minimum grade of 7.5/20.
