The present CU is part of the 2nd cycle in Teaching Physical Education in Basic and Secondary Education, scientific area Education. It aims to provide up-to-date basic knowledge and its reflection on the main issues of the School Management and Organizational Culture. Additionally, it is intended that students recognize the pertinence of this knowledge and reflections for the practical issues of their professional future.

S1- The school as organization: organization and management of schools; reforms and processes of the change of school; organizational structures of the school; different bodies and its competences; fundamental guiding documents. S2- The management of the pedagogic autonomy of the school: the instruments; agents for autonomy. S3 - School organizational culture: design and elements of an organizational culture; action, spaces and times in the construction of the school's organizational culture; school culture and leadership. Cp4 - models and types of leadership: transformational and distributive leadership with an emphasis on the pedagogical dimension; leadership and intermediate management structures; the Physical Education teacher as an intermediate leader, with the role of class director. S5- The evaluation of the educational system and of the schools; engagement and relation with the students; engagement and relation with the parents; engagement and relation with the community involved.

Objectives
Learning Objective Lo1- Identify the different concepts and foundations for understanding the school as an organization, its organizational structures, and its competencies, based on educational reforms and school change processes. Lo2- Know the instruments and agents of the school's pedagogical autonomy. Lo3- Understand the concept of school organizational culture and explain the cultural specificities of the organization as a dynamic process, built and developed in interdependence: in action in space and time. Lo 4- Distinguish the models and types of leadership in school organizations (top leadership and intermediate leadership and management structures), and recognize the Physical Education teacher as an intermediate leader with the ability to develop curricular projects according to the specificity of the contexts. Lo 5 - Understand the evaluation of schools in a cultural and symbolic framework of pedagogical autonomy in school management.

Teaching methodologies and assessment
In this curricular unit, the contents are approached through expositional and interrogational methods over seminars and themed synchronous and asynchronous discussions; The themes will be approached through research work, individual and/or in group, in a manner of promoting the autonomous work of the students and their active participation in the learning process. It will be privileged methodologies centred in the discussion of cases and problem-solving.
