    The UC Training Methodology in Physical Education and School Sports is part of the 2nd cycle of Physical Education Teaching in Basic and Secondary Education, scientific area Training Teachers in Technological areas. It aims to provide updated basic knowledge and reflection on the central issues of Training Methodology in Physical Education and School Sports. Additionally, it is intended that students recognize the relevance of this knowledge and reflect on the practical problems of their professional future.

    Syllabus

    S1 – Fundamental training concepts (Load – Adaptation – Recovery – Laws – Pedagogical Principles). S2 – Training planning principles applied to the school context (annual planning, teaching unit, class). S3 – Methodology for teaching/training sports techniques in individual sports and teaching technique/tactics in situational sports (team sports, combat sports). S4 - Methodology for training motor skills in children and young people. Recommendations and their application in a school context; Principles of exercise construction (characteristics, contributions of motor learning, dynamic systems theory, ecological psychology); Development of Physical Fitness at school - Theories, models, and operationalization. S5 - Physical Education and intervention in special populations. S6 – Assessment of physical fitness in the school context. S7 – School Sports: planning, intervention, and evaluation in individual and team sports.

    Objectives

    LO1 – Know and apply training concepts in preparing the annual planning of teaching units and classes in the school context. LO2 – Apply the concepts of sports training to teaching individual and team sports in the context of classes and school sports. LO3 – Know and apply training methods for teaching techniques/tactics in individual, collective, and combat sports. LO4 - Understand and acquire knowledge about training physical capabilities in children and young people. LO5 – Know and design specific training programs for special populations. LO6 – Know and apply the different methods and forms of assessment in the context of Physical Education classes and school sports. LO7 – Apply the concepts of sports training in the context of school sports.

    Teaching methodologies and assessment

    We will use different teaching methodologies (TM): Exhibition and Analysis of reference documentation (TM1), Observation, discussion, and analysis of videos and practical activities in a natural context (TM2), Resolution of practical cases in a simulated planning situation, organization and intervention in the context of teaching and learning (TM3), Small group activities (TM4), Feedback on work developed (TM5).
