Resume

Lucimar Dantas is a researcher with interests in teaching and learning and the role of language in these processes. She has a PhD in Education from the Lusófona University with the title of European Doctorate (2012) approved with distinction and honor. She completed part of her doctoral training at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, where she worked with researchers from EQUIAL - Equipo de Investigación para la Adquisición del Lenguage. Her doctoral thesis presents for the first time the acquisition of the Portuguese language spoken in Brazil in a 5-year longitudinal case study. She started working as a researcher in 2019, after winning the position of Assistant Researcher in an international competition for institutional scientific employment. Her interest in language and learning has been a constant since her Master's and PhD studies. Recently, she has adopted an interdisciplinary research approach between Education, Psycholinguistics and Cognitive Neuroscience to study language and the learning process in a school context. As part of this, she founded and coordinates the Research and Learning Community NELP - Portuguese Language Studies Group - at CeiED. She also co-founded and she is the Vice-Director of the Master's Degree in Cognitive Sciences and Education at Lusófona University. She has experience of international mobility, having visited the Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics, in the Netherlands, as well as some European countries as a researcher. In her current research she has worked with colleagues from national and international institutions such as the Universidade de Lisboa and Princenton Neuroscience Institute, USA. Her interest in the learning process goes beyond research and is applied to supporting the training of young researchers. She is the Executive Director of the Citizenship Sciences Doctoral College - CeiED, which supports doctoral candidates and thesis directors in developing transversal skills and stimulating international mobility. At the Doctoral College, she maintains constant link with The Council for Doctoral Education of the European University Association - EUA-CDE. She is the editor of the Revista Lusófona de Educação and a reviewer for international journals. She has extensive teaching experience in primary education, as a Portuguese language teacher, and in higher education, as a teacher of various subjects in the field of Education Sciences. She has experience of working with large teams.
