Resume

I am a Research Assistant at the School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon. My academic journey began with a Master's in Psychology, followed by a Ph.D. focused on prosodic abilities in children with autism. I further expanded my research through a postdoctoral position, continuing my interdisciplinary approach to autism and socio-communicative impairments. As a dedicated researcher, I am committed to advancing scientific knowledge in typical and atypical language development (e.g., prosody, pragmatics, literacy) through interdisciplinary approaches, rigorous methodologies, and insights from psychology, psycholinguistics, and clinical practice. My research has resulted in 25 publications in high-impact journals (e.g., Int. J. Lang. Commun. Disord, Reading & Writing, Applied Psycholinguistics, and J. Autism. Dev. Disord.) (H-index of 12, according to Google Scholar) and six book chapters published by renowned international publishers (e.g., Oxford University Press and Routledge). These contributions offer real-world benefits in both clinical and educational settings. Alongside my research contributions, my dedication to mentoring is evident. I have supervised 17 internships and 15 master's dissertations (3 as a co-supervisor), demonstrating my commitment to supporting future researchers/clinicians. Currently, I supervise one master's thesis, co-supervise a Ph.D. thesis (funded by FCT, awaiting defense), and supervise another Ph.D. thesis (also supported by FCT). I have actively participated in various funded research projects and am committed to sharing assessment tools for European Portuguese that we have developed or adapted (e.g., ProsoQuest, EP–CSBS DP™ Infant–Toddler Checklist). Furthermore, I am dedicated to knowledge dissemination and its clinical translation. I have presented at international and national conferences, taught and collaborated in Ph.D. and MA seminars, coordinated advanced specialization courses, and engaged in community outreach. This includes delivering talks at schools, participating in healthcare seminars, and developing professional development courses to bridge the gap between research and practice. Additionally, I have gained extensive clinical experience as the coordinator of the University of Porto's Neuropsychological Service for Children, reinforcing my commitment to applying research to real-world contexts.
