General Directorate of Higher Education Scholarships - DGES
The deadlines for applications for DGES Scholarships for 2023/24 are open. See the informationhere. Applications run between June 25 and September 30, 2023.
- In the 20 working days following registration, when it occurs after September 30;
- In the 20 working days following the issuance of proof of the beginning of the internship by the entity that provides it, in the case of graduates or masters who are undertaking a professional internship;
Universidade Lusófona offers its students the possibility of applying for scholarships from the General Directorate of Higher Education (Ministry of Education and Science).
These scholarships are intended for economically disadvantaged students, which is why an analysis is made of the economic situation of the student's household, within the scope of the Dispatch that regulates the process of granting scholarships to higher education students.
Scholarship is an annual cash benefit to share the costs of attending a course or carrying out a mandatory professional internship, awarded by the DGES, whenever the student does not have an adequate minimum level of financial resources.

The application for Scholarships is done online, through the BeOn Platform. To apply for a scholarship, you will need access credentials (username and password), which are provided by the School Social Action Service, through:

Application for Scholarships for Higher Education Attendance by Students with Special Educational Needs Equal to or Higher than 60% | DGES
In this sense, students with a disability equal to or greater than 60% may apply for a scholarship corresponding to the amount of the tuition fee actually paid. To apply for the scholarship, students must:
- Be enrolled and enrolled in a higher education institution;
- Prove the degree of disability through a medical certificate of multipurpose disability;
- Have the tax and contributory situation regularized.

Scholarships for Ukrainian Students and Teachers
Scholarships and other support for Ukrainian refugees who intend to work and study in Portugal.
In the face of the tragic events that devastated Ukraine and the Russian Federation, Lusófona University expresses its solidarity with the victims, hoping that dialogue and diplomacy can soon be resumed, towards a peaceful resolution of the conflict, according to the successive appeals from various European and international organizations, notably the United Nations, and especially its Secretary General, António Guterres.
Assuming its social responsibility, the Rectory and Administration of Lusófona University propose to welcome Ukrainian students and teachers, refugees from this war, who wish to work and continue their studies in Portugal, through a program of scholarships and other support, thus contributing , so that they can live in Peace, according to the values of Freedom and Democracy.
