The 2023 SCAR SC-HASS Biennial Conference is an international event, organized every two years, that brings together academics from the four corners of the planet, with the common interest of studying the human presence in Antarctica, in all its dimensions. It will be a 3-day event that will include key-notes, oral communications, posters and cultural agenda.

The theme of this issue is "The Antarctic for a Better World", expressed in the following message: While human relationships around the world are destabilizing and the fragile ecosystems of our planet are threatened by climate change, Antarctica remains a place of admiration, curiosity and ingenuity, where people from the four corners of the world come together with a shared purpose: to guarantee the greater good of our planet and those who live on it.
