End

Digital citizenship in Portuguese-speaking countries aims for citizens to acquire competences that enable them to participate actively in society. This includes equitable access to technology, the ability to use the internet safely and responsibly, and an understanding of the challenges and opportunities that the digital age presents.
Freedom House, an international organisation that focuses on democracy and human rights issues, has published annual reports on internet freedom and digital citizenship in Portuguese-speaking countries. These reports analyse various aspects, including freedom of expression online, access to information, privacy, censorship and digital surveillance.
