Conference Cycle April utopias
The Portuguese Revolution and Education
With the revolution of April 25, 1974, the new political powers considered the school as a fundamental means for the democratization of the country and its reflexes had immediate effects on all school actors. Intense activities were carried out in schools and measures were adopted to align the objectives of educational institutions with the objectives of the revolutionary process. Within the scope of the project "Utopias de Abril. The Portuguese Revolution and Education", under development at the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies in Education and Development (CeiED) of the Lusófona University, under the coordination of António Teodoro and Alcina de Oliveira Martins, two initiatives will be promoted aimed at debating and reflecting on education in Portugal.
