Lusófona University - Porto University Centre launches the initiative "Wednesdays at Lusófona" with the lecture "Water in Focus" on 15 January 2025, from 15:00 to 17:00, in the Sala dos Atos.
The water that reaches our homes involves a complex process of treatment and distribution, and few are aware of the impact of biofilms within this system. Furthermore, this essential resource is present in everything we consume, from food to everyday products. The water footprint reveals the amount of water needed to produce each product, including the meal we place on our plates.
Rethinking the sustainable use of water is both urgent and necessary. This session, led by Professors Cândida Manuel and Kalina Samardjieva (FACNET), delves into these critical issues, fostering thoughtful reflection and responsible practices in water usage.
