Objectives
Objectives
Alongside the Knowledge or Information Economy, the Economy of Culture integrates the New Economy, given that its way of production and circulation of goods and services is highly influenced by new technologies. As a branch of the economy that is interested in the economic aspects of creation, distribution and consumption of works of art, it is based on creation and does not follow the paradigms of classical industrial economics. The Cultural Economy model tends to incorporate innovation and adaptation to changes. Creative capacity has more weight than capital. New technologies, especially digital, have created new products and other ways to produce, disseminate, distribute and consume. Initially linked mainly to Fine Arts, decorative arts, publishing, music and shows, it was extended to other cultural activities, cinema, book and music publishing, and the economy of cultural institutions, museums, libraries, monuments and historical sites.
