Introduction to Integrated Care in an Institutional Context Characteristics of institutionalised users: ageing, physical limitations, dementia and health conditions Beauty and Well-being procedures adapted to the institutional environment Safety and Hygiene Protocols in the Institutional Environment Well-being and Stimulation Techniques in the Institutional Context Humanised and ethical communication and approach Multidisciplinary teamwork, family members and significant others in sharing information and developing care plans. Objectives
• Promote understanding of the particularities and needs of institutionalised users. • Encourage care practices that promote self-esteem, well-being and improved quality of life for institutionalised users. • Recognise the characteristics and limitations of institutionalised users. • Adapt beauty and well-being procedures to the conditions of the institutional environment. • Promote humanised and ethical care practices. • Work in an integrated manner with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the best quality of care. • Ensure adequate nutrition (enteral, parenteral and nasogastric).
