In the field of biology, biochemistry and scientific research in general, molecular biology increasingly occupies a fundamental role. The great evolution of molecular knowledge and the development of laboratory techniques overlooking this area, become vital in areas as important as that of medicine. Basic knowledge in molecular biology will allow students to integrate in an easy way in any laboratory environment.

Objectives
Objectives
With this CU we intend to consolidate concepts previously acquired and which are fundamental to understand the molecular biology of the cell, and develop the main mechanisms of regulation of gene expression. It is intended with this CU to provide a solid foundation in the area of molecular biology, giving students the notion of the diversity of techniques and concepts that involve the subject and the great practical applicability that they have in the current practice of biology, biomedicine and even in the areas of clinical medicine. It is also intended to promote the acquisition of knowledge in the main techniques in molecular biology and theoretical foundations that support them and, above all, to promote the ability to develop a highly specialized lab work.

Teaching methodologies and assessment
Teaching methodologies and assessment
In addition to the weekly follow-up, students will have at their disposal in the e-learning moodle platform, discussion topics, additional articles that may be of interest to their training. It is intended in this way to create a great involvement and active participation of students in the CU, and a daily interest for the themes discussed. Lectures will be taught in person or by elearning using the Zoom platform whenever necessary.
