Objectives
Objectives
At the end of the course the student should be able to: - Apply biotechnological tools to production processes to cement sustainability - Describe and analyze current and ongoing research processes of production based on a biological matrix - Apply know-how in microbiology in industrial production activities. - Define the concept of biorefinery and identify areas for its application. - Classify and describe the main types of bioreactors and select the most suitable for a given process. - Critically analyze implemented processes based on the acquired knowledge.

Teaching methodologies and assessment
Teaching methodologies and assessment
The teaching component of the UC is performed through theoretical and practical classes. Theoretical classes are taught with cturesle supported by audiovisual media. Theoretical-practical classes involve exercises and analysis and discussion of scientific articles and preparation of a written work on a topic of the area, made by students distributed in groups.
