    Assessment of the ongoing political situation throught out the semester with elaboration of journalistic and communication pieces, mainly focus on the 2024 American Elections. Political systems. Democracy and media. Quality od democracy. History of the political thought. The Public Sphere and Modern States. Interaction between political and journalism fields. Mediatization of politics. Journalism as the fourth power?  Empirical learning on political dynamics. Ideology, political journalism and media analysis.

    Objectives

    Political Journalism will enable students to fully undestand media and political relations and the communication role in the present conditions of modern societies. The student will be prepare to work in that field either as a press adviser in politics or a political reporter. Students will understand the information process and its dynamic influence.

    The teaching-learning process is centered on the student who researches and inquires the political-media reality, developing critical thinking, capacity for cooperation and debate and other qualities for communication professionals and actives citizens.
