Syllabus
A healthy and lawful work environment. The legal framing (national and international law). The deviant behaviour. Characterization: what is and what is not moral and sexual harassment? Harassment and its typology. The unlawful act (relationship between labor law and criminal law). The harasser. Legal subordination and the reasons for harassment by the employer, hierarchical superior or work colleague. Harassment by a person outside the employment relationship. Consequences for the victim. Suffering, illness, moral and existential damage, and the termination of the employment contract. Consequences for the business organization and society. Impacts on productivity, the balance of the working environment and projective moral damage. Control by the law. Preventing, combating and repairing damage caused by civil offenses, misdemeanors and crimes. Labor inspection and access to the courts. Case law studies.

Objectives
To provide the student with all the essential elements, legal and factual, that will allow the future criminologist to know, understand and explain: the phenomenon of harassment in the work environment; the complexities of the deviant behaviour and its perpetrator; the impact it has on its victims and on the employer’s organizational structure; the various forms of controlling it by means of the Law.

Teaching methodologies and assessment
The teaching methodology will be mainly based on lecturing, interspersed with the interactive discussion of case law, in order that the students are able to establish a nexus between theory and praxis. Student assessment will be based on: 1) attendance and punctuality; 2) effective and qualified active participation during classes; 3) written test.
