Class Introduction to Economic Thought

This curricular unit has as main objectives: • Identify and analyze the primary and secondary sources of economic thinking. • Explain the historical component of economic theories. • Compare the cumulative and conflicting nature of different economic models. • List the different themes of economic thinking.

• Sources and Methodology of the History of Economic Thought. • Pre-classical thinking: from Aristotle to Bodin. • From classics to marginalists. • From Marshallian economics to Keynesianism. • From Welfare Economics to New Economies

Students should find news in which the ideas of the various authors mentioned are patent, thus giving a realistic and pertinent nature to the UC.
