1. Power sources and electrical power systems. 2. Historical evolution of electric power systems. 3. Fundamental concepts of electric power systems. 4. Operational Considerations. 5. Characterization and determination of the electrical parameters of the power transmission temples (longitudinal resistance and inductance, transverse admittance and capacity); Long line equations; Modeling of lines by diport and equivalent circuit in Pi; Voltage and current profiles along the lines; Power Limit 6. Introduction to steady state power systems. Brief introduction to the criteria underlying the energy flow equations.

Objectives
A) Ability to understand the historical evolution of electric power systems and the reasons that motivated the current state of the art. B) Ability to identify the constituent elements of power generation and distribution systems, as well as the ability to use the respective representation symbology. C) Ability to analyze three-phase electrical systems, identifying the main advantages and particularities of this type of systems. D) Ability to analyze and determine electrical parameters of power transmission lines E) Capacity of electrical sizing of transmission lines and their modeling F) Ability to analyze local and global technical problems associated with power generation and transmission
