Class History of International Relations

The aim of this curricular unit is to provide an overview of International Relations, the different approaches, models and scientific sub-areas.

Relations between the great European powers before and after the Congress of Vienna (The Napoleonic Wars and the Vienna system) 4. The First World War 1914-1918 (Causes and Consequences) 5. Treaty of Versailles and the League of Nations (Terms of the Treaty of Versailles and the collective security provided for in the League of Nations) 6. The Second World War 1939-1945 (Causes and consequences) 7. The Cold War 1947-1989 (Creation of the United Nations and phases of the Cold War) 8. Fall of the Berlin Wall and end of the bipolar world: hegemony American 1989-2001 (unipolar world, end of history; Huntington's thesis; the BRICS) 9. Post-9/11 period (Arab Spring; the 2007 financial crisis) 10. US/China conflict (Alisonn's thesis). 11. The international world of 2024 (China; Ukraine)

In addition to the lessons taught by the teacher, students are invited to summarize a short article that they will present in class, which presupposes an understanding of the theoretical framework of international relations.
