1. General Aspects and Background to International Relations (The Peloponnesian War) 2. Thirty Years' War and the Peace of Westphalia (Content of the Peace of Westphalia and mechanisms of the Westphalian system) 3. Relations between the great European powers before and after the Congress of Vienna (The Napoleonic Wars and the Vienna system) 4. The First World War 1914-1918 (Causes and Consequences) 5. Treaty of Versailles and the League of Nations (Terms of the Treaty of Versailles and the collective security provided for in the League of Nations) 6. The Second World War 1939-1945 (Causes and consequences) 7. The Cold War 1947-1989 (Creation of the United Nations and phases of the Cold War) 8. Fall of the Berlin Wall and end of the bipolar world: hegemony American 1989-2001 (unipolar world, end of history; Huntington's thesis; the BRICS) 9. Teaching methodologies and assessment
In addition to the lessons taught by the teacher, students are invited to summarize a short article that they will present in class, which presupposes an understanding of the theoretical framework of international relations.
