    Syllabus

    This curricular unit aims to enable students to create designer fashion design prototypes, so the focus will be on pattern design (patterns transformations). The creation of prototypes for the collection created by students, at the UC Fashion Design Laboratory I, includes the application of trimmings: interfacing, zippers, buttons, bias tape, horsehair, among others necessary for the construction of garments.

    Objectives

    1. Deepen knowledge of the construction of garments in prototypes of a designer fashion collection. 2. Provide students with advanced notions of pattern design for designer fashion design: transformations of two-dimensional patterns 3. Advanced notions of tailoring for designer fashion design. 4. Deepening the technique of applying props in to different kinds of garments.
  • Teaching methodologies and assessment

    Teaching methodologies and assessment

    Through visual presentations, there will be focused aspects of research and analysis of fashion design. In the classroom context, the work and an autonomous work regime will be developed to be carried out in class. The work typology is essentially practical, assuming research, planning and execution.
