The student must be aware of the operating principle of the key technologies of metal forming and cutting, acquiring aptitude for calculation and design of equipment and industrial technology, as well as manufacturing of mechanical components. The student should also take operating principle of the knowledge of powder metallurgy technologies and rapid prototyping.

Syllabus
Mechanical properties of materials. Classification of processes. Metal forming processes (description, equipment, materials, parameters and the calculation parts). Forging (open and closed dies, hot and cold). Extrusion (forward and reverse, hot and cold). Rolling (hot and cold). sheet metal bending. Bending and calendering. Drawing and Hydroforming forming processes. Rapid prototyping, Powder metallurgy (production of powders, blending and compression, sintering, finishing). technological cutting processes. Metal cutting (machine tools, strength calculation, work and power, punches, angled cut). Machining (machine tools, CNC cutting, cutting forces and powers, orthogonal cutting). Laser, water jet, and electro-erosion cutting.

Objectives
Provide students with the fundamental concepts of mechanical properties. Familiarize students with the technological processes for processing of materials that were not addressed in the Mechanical Technology I UC in the manufacture of tools, machinery system and mechanical equipment. Meet emerging advanced technologies.
