The unit provides a comprehensive overview of management principles and practices, preparing students to understand the business world and face the challenges of modern organizations, through an approach to fundamental management concepts, organizational theories and management practices in different business contexts, providing skills and knowledge in relation to various functions within an organization, such as human resources, planning, marketing, social responsibility, finance and strategy, among others.

Objectives
Know the fundamental concepts and principles of management Understand the internal functioning of companies and their context in the surrounding environment. Know relevant aspects of top management, functional management and organizational skills. Develop skills in the application of management methods, tools and principles. Understand the main management challenges in a context of increasing uncertainty and complexity. Know the rationale behind sustainable management of organizations, in light of the imperatives of the digital and ecological transition.

Teaching methodologies and assessment
The teaching methodology and assessment adopted value an adequate combination of the various components: • Carrying out two tests with a weighting of 40% each; • Carrying out small assignments and discussing cases and relevant topics in class, with a weighting of 20%. Students will also be encouraged to develop self-learning methodologies with teacher guidance in order to consolidate learning objectives
