Objectives
Understand the nature of scientific knowledge and the principles and rules that organize its production in Internal Security Studies; demonstrate understanding of basic theoretical, conceptual and methodological aspects present in the research process; examine the organization of the research process in its fundamental elements; identify and select sources of information relevant to research in Internal Security Studies; adequately analyze selected information; reveal the ability to prepare a small research project; develop attitudes of analytical rigor; demonstrate written and oral communication skills; reveal an ethical awareness around acts of research and production of scientific knowledge.

Teaching methodologies and assessment
The curricular unit adopts the theoretical-practical methodology, combining the directive type methodology with the analysis of theoretical bodies and formal models and the joint realization of knowledge application exercises. The final grade will result from a work in which the student applies the set of norms and rules of a scientific work.
