Presentation
The course unit Voice and Singing III integrates practical work of structural importance in the training of the Dramatic Arts performer. An efficient and versatile vocal expression is an essential component for this type of performer and, following on from the work developed in Voice and Singing I and II, Voice and Singing III encompasses the theoretical knowledge and the practical development of various abilities and skills of the spoken and sung voice, as an approach to vocal use in its different contexts. In addition to addressing vocal health and hygiene and recognising strategies for preparing and maintaining a healthy voice, the subject develops general vocal technique (with a focus on breathing, vibration and projection, resonance, and articulation), applied to both spoken and sung voice, in group and solo contexts. It also includes work on some basic musical concepts and fosters an understanding of the integration of voice in dramatic performance.
