Presentation
The Voice and Singing III subject integrates practical work that is structurally necessary in the training of performers in Dramatic Arts. An efficient and versatile vocal expression is an essential component for this performer, and building on the work done in the Voice and Singing I and II courses, Voice and Singing III encompasses the practical development of various abilities and skills related to spoken and sung voice, as well as theoretical knowledge and understanding of topics related to an efficient and versatile approach to vocal use in various contexts. In addition to addressing vocal health and hygiene and recognizing strategies for preparing and maintaining a healthy voice, general vocal technique is developed (with focus on breathing, vibration and projection, resonance and articulation) with application to spoken and sung voice. Monologue and dialogue work is undertaken along with basic musical concepts, and the integration of voice into interpretation is comprehended.
