Class Surfing (Option II Modality - Sports Coaching)

  • Presentation

    Presentation

Specialization as a SURF coach with a focus not only on the initial stages of the practitioner's sports development, but also with a transition to the intermediate and advanced stages of the surfer's sports development. Consolidate in the student knowledge about the ocean, about equipment and general and specific knowledge about technique and tactics in surfing at different levels of development of the practitioner. The learning developed over the year should result in an autonomous intervention (outside and inside the water) that cuts across the various targets of practitioners - different age groups, different technical levels (intermediate-advanced-competition) and surfers with different curves of evolution. It is also intended to develop in the student skills for the overall management of the surf school (equipment, spaces, organization, signs), as well as general knowledge about the regulation, licensing and organization of the sport system of the modality.

  • Objectives

    Objectives

The student, preferably with autonomy, must master all questions related to the equipment (suits, boards, accessories) and guide practitioners in the best way on the best choices and best solutions. The student must know how to guide the teaching/training process, from warming techniques, to reading and interpreting ocean conditions for an adequate theoretical and practical management of the surf session: positions in and out of the water, technical instructions and tactics with practitioners of different levels of learning, different physical characteristics, different approaches to contact with the ocean and different age groups. Enhance in the student during this specialization process as a coach, the most efficient technical, pedagogical and communication skills, based on constant assertiveness.
