    Presentation

This 1st Cycle Physical Education and Sports (PED) course, essential for understanding the human body in movement, addresses the structural and functional organization of the organism, with an emphasis on the skeletal and muscular systems, essential for the analysis and understanding of motor skills. Its scope encompasses different contexts of exercise and sports, providing indispensable knowledge for the interpretation and application of anatomy in professional practice. The areas of intervention encompass the identification and characterization of anatomical structures, the understanding of their functions and the relationship between these and motor gestures, supporting the analysis of physical and sports performance. Due to its relevance, this course constitutes a foundation for subsequent courses, allowing the consolidation of applied scientific training that supports qualified intervention in any area of PES.
